Bio-
Jane of all trades, master of none, I am a lifelong student, world traveler, coffee drinker, Labrador owner, ocean lover, reader, hummingbird hunter, slurpee sipper, camper, artist, story teller, antique picker, earth protector and a picture taker based in Southern California. My love for California comes from its majestic beauty and varying landscapes to the rich cultures and diverse people. They create perfect backdrops and subjects for a photographer and it encourages me every day to pick up a camera and explore my possibilities. I've spent over 30 years exploring every inch of it with camera in hand. Even after exploring different parts of the world, CA is still one of my favorite places to be and will always be home. Search #WhereisKtoday on Instagram to see my travels (and sometimes my lunch) .
I love to connect with new people and would be honored to capture the best moments for you!
Cheers, K
Giving back
Giving back has been the key to my success. When first starting out in photography, companies like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Susan G. Komen LA allowed me the honor to capture their events. Those opportunities have blossomed into amazing partnerships that I am very proud of today. Supporting and capturing the events these non-profits sponsor all year long is an honor and a thrill. All of the key players and volunteers involved in both of these organizations work tirelessly to make their events successful. Their dedication and hard work help raise awareness and gain donations that further their research and help save lives. Due to their efforts, both CFF and SGK are seeing more and more survivors, live longer and stronger because of the money raised and research being funded.
Both Cancer and Cystic Fibrosis have struck my family directly so as a way to give back I donate my time as often as possible. I have photographed events for SGK LA like “A Race for a Cure" & “Breast Cancer awareness month" and for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation “Beach, Brews & BBQ” & “A Cycle for life” just to name a few. One of my favorite events has to be the private photo session for kids with CF. Because of their weakened immune system they are challenged with being in enclosed spaces where germs may be transferred, especially to each other. Setting up a private yet open, outdoor studio allows us to capture them and their families best moments from year to year. The promising thing is that those moments are happening and people with CF are living longer. I encourage everyone to volunteer, sponsor or attend these events to support these amazing foundations.
